The Bruins played their final back-to-back of the season Thursday against the Islanders, and the team looked more than happy to be done with that facet of its schedule upon the game’s conclusion.
Boston coach Claude Julien discussed the team’s 2-1 loss to the Islanders with NESN’s Naoko Funayama after the game. He admitted that the B’s had “ran out of gas,” but he didn’t blame a lack of effort for the ultimate result.

The Boston Bruins were busy Thursday preparing for Military Appreciation Night, which took place during the team’s game against the Islanders.
Nathan Horton, Tuukka Rask and David Krejci took the time to install a POW/MIA seat in section 303 in TD Garden’s balcony. Then, the Bruins posted a photo of Horton’s camo warm-up uniform. Horton donated $5,000 worth of tickets...
The Bruins will struggle to do much of anything in the playoffs with Patrice Bergeron, and after the center suffered his fourth concussion last week against Ottawa, there was fear that the B’s could be without Bergeron for some time.
However, it sounds like the reigning Selke winner continues to progress in his comeback attempts, and he’s already hit a couple of milestones on...
Playing “good news, bad news” usually entails a little bit of each one. Unfortunately for the Bruins, it’s been more of the latter in recent days.
With Brad Marchand sidelined after suffering a concussion and Patrice Bergeron already out of the lineup with one of his own, the Bruins are certainly looking for some good news. Hopefully, they can find that against the Islanders...

The Bruins first...
It looked like it was going to be a blowout as the Bruins came out strong scoring a minute into the game on a Gregory Campbell back hand from Jagr and Marchand.
Moments later, Daniel Paille and Rich Peverley converted a short handed two on one when Paille capitalized on his initial shot.
Gregory Campbell then scored again on another short hander, as he tipped Andrew Ference'...
BOSTON — The Bruins were up against it Thursday night against the New York Islanders. The B’s were playing their second game in as many nights and their third game in four nights to begin the week. Yet for the first 20 minutes it looked like the B’s seemed ready to take on that challenge and perhaps conquer it.
However, with less than a minute to play in the first, Josh Bailey...
After tonight's tilt there will be 8 games left in the regular season. ******* crazy isn't it? It felt like yesterday that the NHL regular season was kicking off. And man, now we get to look forward to some playoff hockey in about two weeks.
Or if we look at the past few games, the displeasure of looking forward to some playoff hockey.
Photo: CHARLES KRUPA BOSTON— The Bruins took to the ice Thursday hoping to grab their third win in a row and their second in four days on home ice. Standing in the way of that goal were the New York Islanders , who came into last night’s tough, grinding tilt having won two games in a row against the always-tough Tampa Bay Lighting and Philadelphia Flyers, both by 4-1 margins...
In late March, we randoly received an e-mail from a woman who does marketing for a company that works with professional astrologists. This woman asked if we were interested in getting a professional astrologists reading on some Bruins players and their rivals. We thought it would interesting so we decided to go for it. We gave her this list:
