While some coaches prefer to give their best players the bulk of the ice time, others like to be able to consistently roll four lines over the bench, and that’s exactly the way Bruins head coach Claude Julien does things. That being said, in light of a couple late-game collapses on the part of Boston, a spotlight has been shined on the third line, which is becoming problematic for the B’s. While Rich Peverley and Chris Kelly were a collective plus-53 last season, they currently sit at minus-15, which just isn’t going to cut it. Moreover, it’s not only that the line is bleeding goals, but they’re simply not scoring at their accustomed pace. Check out the video above for WEEI’s DJ Bean‘s sit-down with NESN Daily‘s Jamison Coyle, where they break down the Bruins’ recent struggles on the third line and in the third period.

Patrice Bergeron, Tyler Seguin, Brad Marchand Looking Like Bruins’ True Top Line

BOSTON — The Bruins’ top line, technically speaking, is the line of David Krejci centering Milan Lucic and Nathan Horton. While that is a very nice line, a darn good line even, it’s becoming clearer that it’s not the Bruins’ top line. That distinction should go to the “second line,” consisting of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and Tyler Seguin. That troika was at it...

Cam Neely Has ‘Always’ Disliked Embellishment From Any Teams, Calls It ‘Embarrassing’

Cam Neely was never accused of diving or embellishing in his day, so it should come as no surprise that the Bruins president would like to see embellishing removed from the game. Neely backed B’s head coach Claude Julien‘s postgame comments from Sunday, albeit not necessarily as strongly. Speaking on his weekly radio appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub, Neely spoke out against...

Bruins Place Chris Borque on Waivers

Earlier today the Bruins placed 27 year old Chris Borque on waivers after he racked up just one goal and three assists through 18 games and a differential of -6.  The team had been patient with Borque, giving him a healthy scratch on Sunday against the Canadiens and earlier in the season against the Sabres on January 31st. Borque had been splitting time between the third and fourth...

Capitals 4, Bruins 3 (OT) Hitting the nitty-gritty part of their compressed schedule, the Bruins were forced to forget about their disappointing loss to the Montreal Canadiens in Boston on Sunday and get ready for Tuesday’s meeting with the Washington Capitals in D.C., the first time the two teams have met since last year’s Stanley Cup quarterfinals. The Caps had the B’s number...

Maple Leafs-Bruins Preview

After a pair of uncharacteristic one-goal defeats, the Boston Bruins are focused on recapturing the defensive effort that has contributed to their overall success. That hasn't been much of an issue when facing the Toronto Maple Leafs recently.
