Last night the Ottawa Senators beat the Buffalo Sabres 3-2.  Senator player Colin Greening was going for the puck when Sabres goalie Ryan Miller got in the way which ended in Miller getting checked into the net.  His teammate Christian Ehrhoff didn't like that to much and immediately started throwing haymakers at Greening.  Nobody seemed to land and good bombs, but it looked like Greening earned a bloody chin and some time in the penalty box for the hit. Leino Out For Several Weeks

from Mike Harrington of Sabres Edge, Ville Leino is out several weeks with a lower body injury suffered last night against Ottawa. Leino played 14:49 in the game but took only one shift in the final 9:25 of play, a 56-second run that ended with 1:01 left. So it’s pretty clear he had some sort of knee or foot problem he was dealing with. (Just guessing here but players often skate...

Did last year screw up this year for the Sabres?

In the beginning part of February, Heather B. and I decided to do a Sabres podcast together. Alright, it was mostly me begging her to talk to me, but she finally gave in. Anyway, the day we did our first podcast came right after Tom Golisano announced he was selling the team. At the time, the Sabres were still on the outside looking into the playoffs and yes, they made some moves...

Filatov To KHL, Again To no surprise former 6th overall pick Nikita Filatov is heading back to Russia for the second time in his short career. The Senators announced on Monday that they have loaned the young forward to CSKA Moscow of the KHL. McQuaid Knees Foligno

I would expect the NHL to review Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid's knee to knee check on  Ottawa Senator's forward Nick Foligno. When I first saw the hit, I thought that Nick Foligno would be done for the night but Foligno returned to game after shaking it off on the bench. McQuaid was given a five minute major and a game misconduct.

Senators' Michalek out with concussion

Ottawa Senators forward Milan Michalek is day-to-day after suffering a concussion during Tuesday's 3-2 overtime victory against the Buffalo Sabres.

Adam McQuaid's Knee-to-Knee Hit Has Fans Guessing at Possibility of Suspension, Fine Coming

Adam McQuaid was given a kneeing major and a game misconduct after a nasty collision with Senators winger Nick Foligno. The question then became whether that's all the punishment that Quaider will be seeing from the league office. Brendan Shanahan has shown that he is unafraid to drop the hammer on transgressors this season and hit them with hefty fines and suspensions. But,...
