The Coyotes and holdout center Kyle Turris have reached agreement on a multi-year contract. Terms were unavailable, but tsn.ca reported that it was a two-year contract for 2.8 million. Turris, who was a restricted free agent, reportedly asked for a multi-year deal worth 3 million to 4 million a year, hoping to force the Coyotes to trade him. The Coyotes, unable to get was they considered equal value in return, refused, and Turris faced a Dec. 1 deadline to return to the team or sit out the season. We are pleased to agree to terms with Kyle on a multi-year contract, general manager Don Maloney said. Kyle is a top young player who will make us a better team. We look forward to having him in our lineup so he can contribute to our team. Turris, 22, has yet to live up to the expectations created when the Coyotes the third overall pick in the 2007 Entry Draft. Last season he registered 11 goals and 14 assists in 65 regular-season games. He had a goal and two assists in four postseason games. In 131 career regular-season games with the Coyotes, he has 19 goals and 27 assists. I am happy to sign with Phoenix and start playing, said Turris. Its been a long process, but now I am focused on playing and helping the team win.
