Recently, the Leafs have won three straight games and four of their last five. Toronto’s streak of wins has come against some so-so teams. The Washington Capitals have been struggling so badly that they fired head coach Bruce Boudreau on Monday in favour of former London Knights head coach Dale Hunter; the Tampa Bay Lighting sit just outside playoff position, the Dallas Stars are 3-6-1 in their last ten and the Anaheim Ducks have now lost five straight. The lone team that they have lost to over their last five games, the Carolina Hurricanes, also fired their head coach on Monday. Paul Maurice is out; Kirk Muller is in.
