It's what been a chaotic few days for UFA goaltender Dan Ellis, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports that Ellis has signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning for two years. It is worth $3 million over the two years.A few days ago, Ellis' rights were traded to the Montreal Canadiens, where many people thought the Habs would try and work something out. Obviously, it didn't turn out that way as the Habs signed UFA goaltender Alex Auld to backup Price. This past season, Ellis went 15-13-1 with one shutout while posting a 2.69 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. In Tampa, Ellis should get a good amount of playing time along with Mike Smith. Ellis has proven before that he has the necessary talent to be a solid goaltender in the National Hockey League.
