The Red Wings and their fans got some very good news Tuesday morning as it was announced that Pavel Datsyuk and the team inked a three year extension to his current deal that was set to expire after this upcoming season.
Datsyuk first announced the deal on his Twitter page as speculation to a deal being close emerged in recent days.

And speaking of speculation, much of it prior to the playoffs was centered on arguably the best player in the league packing up and heading back to Russia to finish out his career after 2014. Obviously this deal ends those questions, at least for the foreseeable future as Datsyuk will finish out the deal after the 2016-17 season when he’ll be 38 years old.
