Johnson, 27, was acquired by the Oilers at the 2010 trade deadline in the deal that sent Steve Staios to the Calgary Flames.

Johnson appeared in 19 games with the Oilers, scoring 3G-4A for 7PTS.  He was a -6  +/- in his time with the Oilers.  Nashville will be his fifth professional club.  Johnson has spent time with Columbus, the New York Islanders, Calgary, and Edmonton.

The deal is a two-way deal that is valued at $550/105K.

He’ll likely compete for minutes as a 5 or 6D.
