When Michael Del Zotto started playing hockey as a 5-year-old in Stouffville, Ontario, he was a forward. “Well, when you’re growing up and you’re 5 or 6 years old, there aren’t many kids who take pride in blocking shots,” Del Zotto said with a chuckle Friday in Greenburgh. “I think I learned to develop a goal-scoring touch, but my dad switched me to defense because passing and vision were my strengths.”
