PLAYERS: Devan Dubnyk
TEAMS: Edmonton Oilers
Edmonton Oilers goalie Devan Dubnyk was pulled at the end of the first period after allowing a goal on a gentle one-hopper from center ice during Friday night's game in Nashville. Predators center David Legwand dumped the puck down the ice towards the Oilers net on one hop, and somehow it bounced over Dubnyk's glove and into the net to give the Predators a 2-0 lead. Yann Danis replaced Dubnyk in goal, but didn't fare much better, giving up four goals as the Predators pounded the Oilers 6-0. Video via NHL.com. H/T Puck Daddy. Oilers G Dubnyk hurt in collision at net

Edmonton Oilers goalie Devan Dubnyk has left Sunday night's game against the Chicago Blackhawks after a collision at the net in the second period. Dubnyk made a nice pad save on a streaking Marian Hossa before the posts were dislodged when the right winger and Edmonton center Teemu Hartikainen converged on the goal. Hartikainen practically skated over the prone Dubnyk, who was...

Devan Dubnyk Lets In Flukey Goal From Center Ice

This has got to be a goalie’s worst nightmare, especially for Devan Dubnyk, who has been under the microscope recently in Edmonton. Nashville’s David Legwand dumped the puck into the offensive zone, presumably to make a line change, but the puck ended up bouncing right past Dubnyk and into the Oilers net. We’ve seen plenty of flukey goals blasted in from the red line, but this...

Reeling Edmonton Oilers welcome back Shawn Horcoff

Perhaps captain Shawn Horcoff can save the Edmonton Oilers. That reeling team desperately needs a turning point and his return from a broken knuckle could provide that. With Horcoff in the lineup this season, the Oilers are 4-2-1. Without Horcoff, the team is 4-9-4.When healthy, he anchors Edmonton’s match-up line against the opponent’s top scorers. He will resume that role when...

Sam Gagner scored two of Edmonton's four goals in the first period and the Oilers beat Chicago 6-5 on Sunday night, sending the Blackhawks to their second consecutive loss after their record-breaking start. Ryan Whitney and Taylor Hall each had a goal and an assist for Edmonton, which snapped a five-game losing streak. Captain Shawn Horcoff also scored as the Oilers went 3 for...

Preds defenseman Vic Bartley to make his NHL debut tonight vs. Oilers…

It was hinted at by The Tennessean’s Josh Cooper earlier this morning and confirmed by injured forward Brandon Yip on Twitter. Nashville Predators defenseman Victor Bartley will make his NHL debut tonight against the Edmonton Oilers. The former captain of the Regina Pats has taken an odd road to the National Hockey League, despite being just 25 years old. Bartley went undrafted...

Are the Wings looking to deal Ian White at the trade deadline?

Thursday night’s 3-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers saw Jimmy Howard earn his 2nd shutout of the season as the Wings continue to limit the oppositions scoring especially over the first two periods. In fact over the last five games the Wings have allowed just five regulation goals going 3-1-1 during that span. All this too is being done without veteran defenseman Ian White who last...

First period sparks confidence for Preds against Oilers

David Legwand beats Devan Dubnyk on one-hopper from the red line

Nashville Predators forward David Legwand was dumping the puck in for a line-change late in the first period.  Legwand flipped the puck in the air, and as it was on edge, it skipped at the hash marks and went off the bottom of Edmonton Oilers goalie Devan Dybnyk’s glove into the net.  Pucks that are on edge and bounce right in front of you are extremely difficult for goalies...

Game day preview: Predators vs Oilers (game 24)

The Predators return home to face the Edmonton Oilers after a disappointing road trip to the west coast. It's an exciting game for Preds fans as a plethora of players will play their first game in Gold. Nashville needs to bounce back as they have fallen ever-so-slightly out of the playoff picture and look to be in pretty awful form of late. The Oilers are also looking to save...
