The NHL announced the 2011 Hall of Fame class this week, and two of the four members have a history in New Jersey.
Joe Nieuwendyk played two seasons with the Devils from 2001-2003 after being traded to New Jersey from the Dallas Stars, registering 19 goals and 56 points in 94 games. He was also part of the 2002-2003 Stanley Cup team, where he posted 17 goals and 28 assists during the regular season.
Gilmour was acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1997 along with Dave Ellett for Steve Sullivan, Alyn McCauley, and Jason Smith. He did not win a Stanley Cup in New Jersey, but was one of the team's better defensemen during his time with the organization. Gilmour recorded five goals and two assists in six games during the 1997-1998 playoffs, but the Devils were knocked out in the second round by the New York Rangers.
