Damien Brunner of the New Jersey Devils missed Saturday nights 4-0 win over the hated rival New York Rangers, but the hope is that is all the time he will miss.
Brunner is said to be feeling better about the upper body injury he suffered. He shared this Sunday with Tom Gulitti of Fire & Ice. Brunner said “Better than yesterday, it’s a little bit better”. When asked about playing on Tuesday, “We’ll have to see tomorrow.” (Monday).
The Devils humbled the Rangers on Saturday, so Brunners absence didn’t have a negative affect on the team or the outcome of the game. However going forward, they would miss him if they had to go a long period with out him. With the Devils offense being sluggish early on in the season, Brunner is tied with Michael Ryder for the team lead in goals with three.
Losing his production would hurt the team, but the injury does not appear to be serious, which is good news for Devils nation!
