New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur is expected to miss at least one game after injuring his shoulder in Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Brodeur, who has been listed as day-to-day, said there was a slight chance he could serve as a backup for Saturday's game against Nashville.

"I kind of hurt it more than I usually tweak it, so the process of getting back to be 100 percent might take a little longer, but I'm happy that it's reacting that way," Brodeur said.

Johan Hedberg, who stopped all 20 shots in relief of Brodeur on Thursday, will start against the Predators on Saturday.

Brodeur was hurt in the first period after diving to stop a shot from the point. He favored his shoulder as the play continued before gingerly retrieving his stick and continuing on.

Brodeur allowed one goal on 11 shots against the Kings. The 39-year-old lost his only other game this season, leaving him stuck on a league-record 625 victories.
