NHL Injury News:
Adam Larsson was placed on injured reserve by the New Jersey Devils with a lower body injury. The move was made retroactively to his last game on Nov. 23rd against the Sharks. The injury occurred in the 3rd period when he crashed into the boards. He is eligible to be activated off IR at any time because he has already missed a week. The Devils called up Tim Sestito from Albany because Ryan Carter is not available due to his fight on Saturday in Buffalo with Marcus Foligno. Per Pete DeBoer, Carter will not be with the team in Montreal.“I saw him this morning,” DeBoer said. “He looks good, but he’s not ready to play.” “He got cut and when he went down, he went down a little awkwardly too, so there’s a couple of things going on there,” DeBoer said. “I’d term it day to day. He won’t play tomorrow and we’ll go from there." Tim Sestito has five goals and eight assists in 21 AHL games with Albany this season. In 70 career NHL games—69 with the Devils—the 29-year-old Rome, N.Y. native has no goals and three assists. DeBoer is considering playing him tonight.

Devils goalie Martin Brodeur will play his first game in his hometown since the Sept. 26 death of his father, Denis.
Although Brodeur broke his policy of not speaking on the mornings of his starts when he talked to the media on Oct. 17 in Ottawa, he decided not to talk Monday morning at Bell Centre. After talking in Ottawa, the Devils and Brodeur lost, 5-2.

"I saw it coming this morning," Michel Therrien noted after the game. A coach and a visionary, Therrien made us all aware that he knew the New Jersey Devils represented a significant drop in emotional investment for his team after they ravaged the Maple Leafs on Hockey Night in Canada, Saturday.

The skinny: Alex Galchenyuk snapped a 2-2 tie when he scored at 9:34 of the third period to propel the Canadiens to a 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils and longtime nemesis Martin Brodeur. Montreal made the most of its limited opportunities on a night when they managed a season-low 17 shots on goal.

The New Jersey Devils are facing the Montreal Canadiens on MSG+, but that's apparently news to the broadcast crew.
During the first period of the game, they threw up the standard ever-present score bug, which as you can see, falsely indentified the Devils as the New York Islanders.
The MSG Network carries Devils and Islanders games (along with the New York Rangers and...
The New Jersey Devils had an opportunity to get above .500 for just the second time this season, and they spoiled it once again.
