Heading into the offseason, you knew there was going to be some change, but maybe not this much. Few predicted that three more players would be gone from the Stanley Cup-winning team, though it didn’t come as a surprise to many when it did happen.
Aside from those three, and a couple of low-priority free agents, like Jake Dowell, we almost made the mistake of running with the assumption that the rest of the Blackhawks free agents, mostly restricted, would return, especially with all this cap space that was recently opened up.
But with the Blackhawks making a surprising amoung of moves on the first day of free agency, there now comes the question of whether or not all three of their remaining restricted free agents will return.
Prior to July 1st, the Hawks qualified three of their five restricted free agents, leaving out Dowell and trading Troy Brouwer. That just left Michael Frolik, Chris Campoli, and Viktor Stalberg. Only one of those guys was on th...
