Lightning prospect Jonathan Drouin the No. 3 overall pick of the June draft said he is "pretty excited" about the team's pre-camp rookie workouts Sept. 4-5 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. He said he has gained seven pounds of muscle over the summer and now weighs in at 195 pounds. Most important though is Drouin's left foot which was bruised severely enough earlier this month that Hockey Canada held him out of a couple of scheduled days of skating at a camp for the 2014 world junior championship. "My foot is fine" the left wing said. "I've been working out and everything so everything is good." Drouin 18 spoke Tuesday from the 2013 Rookie Showcase in Toronto where 25 of the NHL's top prospects/rookies gathered to in full uniforms have their pictures taken by Panini America and Upper Deck for their first-year trading cards and memorabilia launches. "Getting to put on all the equipment is pretty special" Drouin said. Drouin 5 feet 11 inches has worked out this summer with player such as Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury and Ottawa's Martin Havlat in a program set up by Octagon Hockey the agency that represents him. He was scheduled to skate for a couple of days at Hockey Canada's world junior summer camp. But at a pre-camp skate the inside of Drouin's left foot was struck and bruised by a puck. Drouin said X-rays were negative and he is primed for not only the Lightning's rookie camp but the regular training camp that starts Sept. 11 also at the Times Forum.
