ANAHEIM, Calif. The Anaheim Ducks announced Thursday that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired center Ryan OMarra from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for defenseman Bryan Rodney. OMarra, 24 (6987), has appeared in 40 contests with the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League (AHL) this season, scoring 8-9=17 points with 58 penalty minutes (PIM). Born in Tokyo, Japan and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, OMarras 15 rating currently ranks second on the club. The 6-2, 193-pound centerman also appeared in seven NHL contests with Edmonton this season, scoring 0-1=1 point with four PIM. Selected by the New York Islanders in the first round (15th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, OMarra won gold with Team Canada at both the 2006 and 2007 IIHF World Junior Championships.
