The Anaheim Ducks made a depth trade on deadline day, acquiring gritty forward Brad Winchester from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for a third round pick in 2011.
Winchester, 29, had 14 points in 57 games with the Blues this season, with a plus-minus of -9, 86 PIMs and 120 hits.
As reported in the Orange County Register, Winchester should address the Ducks wish for a big, physical fourth line winger “after the Aaron Voros experiment failed”.
Winchester also comes with an affordable $700K salary for this season, and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
