Found January 22, 2013 on On the Duck Pond:
So far, so good for the Ducks, who have won their first two games of the season.  That both games were on the road bodes even better for Anaheim.  After a 7-3 victory in Vancouver, the Ducks followed it up with a 5-4 win over the Calgary Flames.   While the game started off well, the Ducks need to learn how to maintain momentum and keep playing hard for the full 60 minutes.  Stop me if you have heard that before in prior seasons. The Ducks started off strong with Ryan Getzlaf getting his first of the year by tipping in Toni Lydman's shot at 1:06 of the first period.   The third line of Daniel Winnik, Saku Koivu and Andrew Cogliano continued to impress with Koivu making it 2-0 at 7:23.  Winnik got his third of the year at 10:53 and it appeared as if the game would be a blow out. Not so fast..... The Flames, who were trounced upon in the home opener the day before against the Sharks, were not about to roll over and play dead.   Curtis Glencross got a power ...

Back In The Getzlaf Dominion Saddle.

It's been quite some time since I was able to track down and successfully acquire one of the 50 Ryan Getzlaf '10-'11 Dominion Ruby Autos. However, that all changed early in December when the below appeared for auction. I couldn't let it slip by me and for just over half a blaster I landed my fifth of these beauts.Numbered 01/50, I really can't get enough of these...

Fasth Recalled; Andersen Down

The Ducks have determined that goaltender Viktor Fasth is now ready to back up Jonas Hiller.  They have recalled the netminder from Norfolk, where he was sent during training camp to get some game time in.  Fasth had been recovering from a groin injury and with no pre-season games this year, needed a couple of games under his belt before Anaheim felt comfortable with him in...

Ducks 5, Flames 4

Daniel Winnik and Ryan Getzlaf each scored two goals as the Anaheim Ducks edged the Calgary Flames 5-4 on Monday night. Saku Koivu had the other goal for Anaheim, which opened the season with two road wins and will enjoy a rare three-day rest in this year's compressed schedule before hosting Vancouver in its home opener Friday. Signed as a free agent last summer, Winnik has...

Winnik helps make Ducks a winner over Flames

CALGARY, Alberta -- Anaheim Ducks winger Daniel Winnik is making an early case that he was the NHL's best free-agent signing in the offseason. Winnik scored just eight goals between the Colorado Avalanche and San Jose Sharks in 2011-12, but the rugged forward already has four in two games for the Ducks, including two in Monday night's 5-4 victory over the Calgary Flames...

Ducks-Flames Preview

Ageless wonder Teemu Selanne helped the Anaheim Ducks kick off their season in impressive fashion. The Calgary Flames' opener didn't go nearly as well. The Ducks look to make it two in a row Monday night as they face the Flames, who try to avoid dropping their first two home games for the first time in five seasons. Even at 42, Selanne appears to have plenty left in the...

Could I Make An Actual Sweater Out Of My Collection of Dominion Patches?

Sick patches and Dominion go hand-in-hand. This newest addition is no exception and was had a couple of months back for around $7-8. Bobby Ryan is my second favorite hockey player and second collecting interest when it comes to hockey.Numbered 03/25, this AMAZING patch seems out of place for a 25-card print-run. With regards to the inaugural release of Dominion, the "PATCH"...

Colin Dambrauskas: Calgary Flames Fall 5-4 In Loss to Anaheim Ducks

Follow me on twitter for updates and discussions! @ColinDJD ________________________________________________________________ An unfortunate way to start a shortened season, the Calgary Flames fell to the Anaheim Ducks in a close game Monday night. The Flames, who were down 3-0 in the first period, found a way to battle hard and tie the game. At the end of the day, their inability...

League Leaders 1-23-13, Goal of the night

Vanek is surreal right now. No clue who Daniel Winnik even is. Blue's are next level.  Goal of the night   Flyers 0-3. Not saying that is a big deal, but if the Pens started 0-3 we'd be blogging live from the Smithfield  Street Bridge. Sucks to suck, bros.
