Patrick Sharp attended the birth of his first child and he plans to be there for the birth of his second.
The winger is prepared to miss an upcoming game if his wife Abby goes into labor during a Blackhawks game. The baby is due next week and with the Hawks about to kick off a stretch of six games in 11 nights there's a distinct possibility Sharp will be wearing a hospital gown instead of a hockey sweater during one of the games.
"I plan on being there for my wife and family" Sharp said Monday. "Sometimes you get messed up with flights and that stuff but I plan on missing a game if I have to."
Among the six upcoming games are road trips to St. Louis and Carolina but that won't stop the father-to-be if he can get back to Chicago in time for the birth.
