One of the last pieces of the improbable 2006 Cup run has signed with Chicago.

Winger Fernando Pisani is an Oiler no more. Today, the Chicago Blackhawks tendered Pisani to a one year $500K deal. And while it’s sad to see such a character leave the organisation, it’ll be nice to see him playing in the NHL, hopefully free of injury, and ulcerative colitis.

Pisani will forever be remembered in Oiler History as the hometown boy who intercepted the errant pass off of one Cory Stillman, and buried it in the twine in a  Game 5 overtime of the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals.

Play it for me one more time.

Good luck, Fernando.
