Joe Pavelski played in 339 career NHL games without ever scoring three goals. He changed that tonight in his 340th game.
Pavelski scored three goals to record his first career hat trick. There was no umbrella thrown this time though. Pavs also had an assist to tie his career high with four points. He also had a four point game on Tuesday’s game against Dallas. His third goal of the game was his 100th career goal. He now has 12 points in his last four games. The Sharks scored three goals in the first 7:41 of the game to chase Halak. Two of those were power play goals by Little Joe. Torrey Mitchell continued his offensive “surge” with a goal and an assist. He has seven points in his last eight games. Devin Setoguchi scored the other goal, which was his 20th of the season. Five different Sharks players have 20 goals now (Marleau, Couture, Heatley, Clowe and Setoguchi), and Joe Thornton has 19. Marleau and Thornton each had two assists in the game.
