Philadelphia– With the NHL still in a lockout, Kristen Laviolette, the wife of Flyers head Coach Peter Laviolette, is trying her best to keep the flyers nation going. On Saturday, she hosted the Flyers Charities Halloween 5K run and walk at the Wells Fargo Center at 9 a.m. Proceeds benefited local non-profits. With October being breast cancer awareness month, representatives were there from the Fox Chase Cancer Center and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The event had a huge turnout with fans running as cartoon characters, movie stars, flyers players, referees and even as Coach Lavy? JP Allen, the Producer for Philadelphia’s hit radio station, Wired 96.5, was running the 5k in the pads of Flyers very own goalie, Illya Bryzgalov; while Coach Lavy was dressed as an NFL Referee. But the best costume of the day goes to Peters wife Kristen, who dressed as The Coach! Yep that’s right, Kristen showed off her costume of her husband Coach Peter Laviolette. The event was a huge success and we thank Kristen for her continued support of Philadelphia, Watch the video below of Wired 96.5 Producer, JP allen as he interviews Coach Lavy after the race.
