Looks like Obama might win Pennsylvania. Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin dropped the puck at the Flyers home opener and got just the reaction everyone would expect from Flyers fans: boos! Yeah, there was a mix of cheering and booing, but from what I could hear, the crowd reacted much more negatively then positively. The Flyers arena was pumped full of music as she was being introduced, likely because they knew what kind of reaction she would get, and that helped to drown out the crowd's reaction. I still don't understand why the Flyers would put themselves in this situation for their home opener. Talk about a negative way to start a season. • What reaction were they expecting?
  • She has to be really stupid to have done this. She deserves it!!!!!!
  • Nonetheless, typical classless act by Flyers fans
  • And Pittsburgh fans, with all 3 teeth that they have, wouldn't boo her? Pittsburghs as much of a blue city as Philly.
  • Wow. 90% of America would boo Palin right now but you have to go and say something like that.
  • Cut him a break. He's from VA and doesn't know much! LOL
  • I was born and raised in Philly and I like Palin a lot. But this isn't the place for politics. Why do Obama "followers" feel the need to continue to bash people who don't vote their way? Thats why the poll right now can be deceiving, We don't shove McCain down anyone's throats.
  • Rude as usual. There were plenty of cheers as well but, leave it to Philly. I wouldn't go as far as to say 90% I'd say 50% Obamas 50. You can't expect much more from Philly though.
  • Her stupidity and the stupidity of her followers baffles. She went to a very Democratic city to start a hockey game, which has NOTHING to do with politics. She should never have gone. Only an idiot would do that and only the sheepish followers would tell the booers they're wrong for speaking their thought!
  • Biden was at a Delaware football game last night. What does that have to do with politics? There were cheers too.
  • Cheers for Palin not Biden. My brother was there. He said there were plenty of cheers. No need to come back at me with something crappy. I am not here to fight. It was your negative post that made me talk politics in a place we should go to escape that. Not trying to offend or start a fight. Just stating my point like you. Oh and as for VA it's not all farms and they aren;t stupid there if that's what you were trying to say. Hell people think PHilly is the worst place on earth so we shouldn't judge anyone else.
  • I wasn't in any way trying to start a fight. Just pointing out she should never have done that, nor should she have been invited.
As for VA, yeah been there. One of the friendliest states to go. But honestly, not the brightest. There are many who think Philly is the worst place. I've heard that about many of the states I've visited and have learned to see for myself. I would put Philly in the 60 percentile, but I don't live there!
P.S. Seriously Texas was the dumbest state I've ever visited, and I now live in AZ so that's saying a lot as AZ is not too bright either (and very enviornmentally un-friendly)!
  • Bidens a Delaware guy...duh
  • something besides for du pont chemicals comes out of dullaware? WOW!
  • P.S. Seriously Texas was the dumbest state I've ever visited.

    I agree with this one!!!

Flyers lose season opener, Randy Jones

Well, that's not the best way to start a season. The 2008/2009 campaign started off a little rough for the Flyers, what with Sarah Palin receiving a mountain of boos and the Flyers falling behind by 4 goals in the first period, but the Flyers were able to fight back to makes things interesting before they fell to the Rangers, 4-3. The Flyers got more bad news today as they...

Flyers drop the puck tonight!

With everything else that's been going on, it's easy to forget that the Flyers will start their season tonight against the Rangers. Philly Fan, doing what they best...Oh, and kudos for this moment of great character. The GOP Vice-Presidential nominee said at an earlier fundraiser that she would stop some of the booing from the rowdy Philadelphia fans by putting her seven year old daughter, Piper in a Flyers jersey. She said, "How dare they boo Piper!"Um, lady? We dare. Now, back to the ash heap of history...
