Former NHL defenseman Karel Rachunek, who played briefly with the New York Rangers, died today in a plane crash just outside of the Russian city of Yaroslavl. Rachunek and almost all of his teammates of Lokomotiv Yaroslaval team of the KHL died in the crash, as the team was headed to Minsk to play the season opener.
