Former NHL defenseman Karel Rachunek, who played briefly with the New York Rangers, died today in a plane crash just outside of the Russian city of Yaroslavl.  Rachunek and almost all of his teammates of Lokomotiv Yaroslaval team of the KHL died in the crash, as the team was headed to Minsk to play the season opener. According to lifenews.ru: - The aircraft flew to the capital of Belarus, – told Life News source in law enforcement field. - The plane crashed at 15:50, shortly after takeoff. According to some data, in a plane crash killed 36 passengers and 7 crew members. - Total on board were 45 people. 37 passengers – athletes, coaches, doctors and staff – told our source – and 8 crew members. Survived, according to preliminary data, only 2 people. They were taken to hospital.
