Former Sharks goalie Ed Belfour has been elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Many Sharks fans don’t even want to remember Ed Belfour as a Shark. Some hockey fans may not even know that Belfour was on the Sharks. Belfour’s tenure with the Sharks was very brief. He was acquired in January of 1997 from the Blackhawks for Chris Terreri, Ulf Dahlen and Michal Sykora. He signed with the Stars a few months later. In his 13 game stint in teal, he went 3-9 with a 3.41 GAA, an .884 save percentage and one shutout. For his career, he was 484-320-125 with a 2.50 GAA, a .906 save percentage and 76 shutouts. He is third all-time in wins, fourth all-time in games played, and tied for ninth all-time in shutouts. He won a Stanley Cup with Dallas in 1999, won the Calder in 1990-91, won two Vezina Trophies, and made five All-Star Games. He played with Chicago, San Jose, Dallas, Toronto and Florida during his 17 year NHL career. The induction ceremony is on November 14th.
