If you grab a microscope and use the 100x zoom, you'll be able to see the Canadiens sitting in the basement of the Northeast division. That joke works in two different ways as they suck and they're short! But inall seriousness, the Canadiens have some major issues this season. On Saturday the organization fired Jaques Martin and gave assistant coach Randy Cunneyworth a shot at the top spot. Of course, Montreal isbeing amazing stupid about the whole situation. Maybe you'd think it was because Martin was fired, but that's the least of their worries right now. No, Montreal is pissed because...HE DOESN'T SPEAK FRENCHThat's legit, by the way. It would be like Boston fans getting pissed off because their coach pronounces his r's. Sure, Cunneyworth doesn't speak French and it's the first time in 30 years that this has happened to the "fine" people ofQuebec, but if you're going to limit yourself to someone who speaks French, you're cutt...

Canadiens/Bruins Post Game, Sutter, Red Line and More

That was rough start to the season's longest road trip, wasn't it? Last night the Canadiens fell to the Bruins 3-2. Although the effort was there, turnovers absolutely killed the Habs. P.K Subban's less than slick between the legs pass and Travis Moen's inability to clear the zone proved costly. It is one thing to make mistakes. It is another thing to make mistakes...

Thomas comes up big in win over Habs

David Krejci scored off his skate to break a second-period tie, and Tim Thomas stopped 33 shots on Monday night to lead the Bruins to a 3-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens and give Boston its fifth consecutive win. Benoit Pouliot and Brad Marchand also scored for the Bruins, who have won 19 of 22 since losing back-to-back games to Montreal at the end of October. Carey Price...

Gregory Campbell Returns to Lineup, Plays Through Pain of Broken Foot to Give Bruins Boost in Win

BOSTON -- The Bruins won each of the three games that Gregory Campbell missed last week after he suffered a fractured foot in Columbus, but that doesn't mean they didn't miss the veteran forward's character and leadership. Both of those qualities were on display Monday night at the Garden when Campbell returned to the lineup and helped the Bruins post a 3-2 win over Montreal...

Bruins Can Hopefully Teach Montreal Coach Randy Cunneyworth French Word for 'Sorry'

Let's get this straight, Montreal: you're OK with taking on Tomas Kaberle's huge contract, but not OK with an English-speaking head coach? NESN Nation's Dan Duquette is a little confused by the priorities the Habs seem to be focusing on as they travel to Boston. Then again, if the B's can teach new Habs coach Randy Cunneyworth how to apologize for losing to the...

Bruins' Aggressive Style Drawing Scrutiny From League, But Boston Must Continue to Play Physical to Succeed

The Bruins knew they were going to be in the spotlight this season. That comes with the territory as reigning champs. But it's not their quest to retain the Cup that has had attention focused on the Bruins this year. Instead, it's their style of play that has Boston under the microscope. The Bruins play a physical brand of hockey. It's an approach that has won them games...

Patrick Roy Would Listen To NHL Coaching Offers

from TSN, If an NHL team - namely the Montreal Canadiens - came calling regarding a vacant job, Patrick Roy certainly won’t have his Stanley Cup rings plugged in his ears. The former Canadiens goaltender and Hall of Famer told reporters on Sunday that he would consider any proposal that’s brought to his attention at the end of the season. “Once the end of the...

Bruins Roll Toward Holiday Still in Midst of Hot Streak Following 3-2 Win Over Canadiens

It wasn't the prettiest of wins, but does it matter? The Bruins picked up another victory on Monday night, holding off the Canadiens 3-2 at TD Garden. The B's continue their torrid streak, winning their fifth straight game. They've outscored opponents 22-7 in that span, which has included dealing with various absences to some key players. But the Bruins' streak started...

Milan Lucic’s hit deemed ‘illegal,’ warrants 1-game suspension

Milan Lucic is a past offender when it comes to fines and close calls. Not only that, his hit on Zac Rinaldo of the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday was deemed “illegal” by the NHL’s sheriff Brendan Shanahan. Here’s the explanation: A fine 12 months ago and a suspension from the 2009 playoffs were both enough to draw the card of past offender for Shanahan...

Lucic believes hit is nothing major

Considering that Milan Lucic was tossed from yesterday’s game at 16:21 of the second period, the left wing had plenty of time to go over the play in question.
