Richard Cloutier: Oilers Re-Sign Gagner
Sam Gagner and the Edmonton Oilers avoided arbitration today by signing a 1yr, $3.2mil deal. Who won it? Oilers, clearly. The contract is at an affordable price, and one year is what they wanted. Sammy sadly did not get the three years or longer he was seeking.
Do I like the deal? Not really. It makes me think Gagner isn't in the Oilers long-term plans. Although, and this...

Oilers Re-Sign Gagner
I may be the only person thinking this, but the Oilers re-signing centreman Sam Gagner may have been one of the bigger “meh” moves of the summer. Yes, Gagner has played 366 NHL games and is only 23 (in August). Yes, Gagner also had an 8 point night last season. But what of his not just cold, but ice cold 20 plus game streak?

Mike Augello: Leafs Sign Kulemin To Two Year Deal
The Maple Leafs have avoided salary arbitration with winger Nikolai Kulemin, agreeing to a two year, $5.6 Million deal this morning.
Toronto filed for arbitration with the 26 year old winger earlier in the month. After scoring 30 goals in 2010-11 on a line with Mikhail Grabovski and Clarke MacArthur, Kulemin slumped to seven goals last season, which likely would have made a postive...
Richard Cloutier: 21 Opinions
Still no Sam Gagner signing to talk about. Still no deals. Still no life from Oilers management. Why aren't Oilers people paying attention? I have a daily blog to write, and it's been weeks since anyone has given me anything legitimate to write about.
As usual, I'm just going to give you my opinion on a bunch of topics:
1. Was listening to Bob Stauffer today. Aww...

What time is it? 9:17pm local time. Well of course it's the local time. What did you expect, the time in Pango Pango?
Anyway, as of 10:10pm Thursday evening, Sam Gagner continues to be unsigned. How is it that Shea Weber...gets a huge, long term contract. Okay, maybe you can't compare...
