Former NHL star Bill Guerin has joined the Pittsburgh Penguins as a player development coach.
The 18-year veteran retired in 2010 after playing for the Penguins during his last two seasons.
The team said Wednesday that the 40-year-old Guerin would work with prospects throughout the organization, assisting in the development of players in the minor leagues along with junior and college hockey.
Guerin had 429 goals and 427 assists in his career and won two Stanley Cups, the last with the Penguins. The right winger also played for the New Jersey Devils, Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues, San Jose Sharks and New York Islanders.
