ST. LOUIS -- Outside of the St. Louis Blues clearly defining themselves as a true NHL heavyweight, this recent road trip also cemented Jaroslav Halak as the Blues' No. 1 goaltender. This was the plan coming into the season, and coach Ken Hitchcock has stuck to his word. "He's our number one," he says. This shouldn't take anything away from Brian Elliott, who has picked up right where he left off at the end of the regular season last year. Elliott carries a 3-0-1 record with a 1.94 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage into his start Saturday vs. Dallas. Elliott stopped 13 of 14 Washington shots in relief of Halak earlier this week. In the past this would have almost guaranteed himself a start the following game. Not this year. The Blues will live or die with Halak as their top goaltender. If he plays his way out of his current spot, then that's a different story, but the Blues are showing as much confidence in Halak as ever and he rewa...

Will this be Roman Polak's best offensive season?

Very few hockey players knock on Roman Polak's door. Over the last several years, offense hasn't come knocking either. Between his first season back in 2006-07 and 2012-13, Polak managed just nine goals and 57 assists (66 points) over the course of 352 games. A goal from Polak was a rare event worth celebrating with unbridled enthusiasm.  Skip to 2013-14 and Polak is...

Boston Bruins Drop Exciting Tilt to St. Louis Blues in a Shootout

After defeating one of the Eastern Conference's best teams on the road, the St. Louis Blues are eager to return home and replicate that performance. 22. St. Louis Blues at Boston Bruins. Something Something World Series Revenge Something

The Bruins have a big test tonight. Ottawa? Carolina? The Rangers? All child's play when compared to the St. Louis Blues. St. Louis is legit and I feel like they're a team not many fans of East Coast teams know about. Maybe it's because they reside in St. Louis where nothing really happens outside of gang wars and Cardinals fans scream on their soap boxes about how they...
