When it comes to his future with the New York Rangers, Henrik Lundqvist is ready to ride or die. If they’re prepared to go begin a rebuild, he is ready for that.

Lundqvist told the New York Post’s Larry Brooks that while he hopes the team will compete now, he is willing to stick with the team through any situation.

“I made a commitment to this organization a few years back. It was a big decision in my career. I hope they have the same commitment to me. I guess it would really be up to them if they have another idea, but I don’t. I want to be here,” Lundqvist told Brooks.

“I want to play for one organization. This one. I love it here. I want to be here and battle through the ups and downs, the good and the bad. It’s important to me.”

The Rangers are tied for last in the Metropolitan Division, but with 55 points, they are well within the playoff hunt in the Eastern Conference. After starting off the season hot, Lundqvist struggled in his last two games and was pulled early from both.

If the Rangers decide to sell before the deadline, players like Ryan McDonagh, Mats Zuccarello, Rick Nash, Michael Grabner, David Desharnais and Nick Holden could be trade candidates.
