The Carolina Hurricanes have claimed right wing Andreas Nodl on waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers. The team also reassigned forward Brent Sutter to Charlotte of the AHL. The moves were announced prior to coach Kirk Mueller's debut with the Hurricanes on Tuesday. The 24-year-old Nodl has one assist in 12 games with the Flyers this season. He is expected to provide depth to the team's stable of forwards. Sutter, 24, has made eight appearances with Carolina this year, notching three assists.
