RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Evander Kane and Andrew Ladd each scored, leading the Winnipeg Jets to a 3-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night. Bryan Little added an empty-net goal with 9 seconds left to seal the victory. Chris Mason made 19 saves for the Jets, who have earned points in five straight games (4-0-1). Winnipeg hadn't won on the road since Nov. 3. Jiri Tlutsy scored for Carolina. The Hurricanes had earned points in their previous three games, but they remain at the bottom of the Southeast Division standings. Cam Ward made 27 saves for Carolina. Ladd scored the go-ahead goal a little more than a minute after Carolina had tied it 1-1 early in the second period. Winnipeg defenseman Zach Bogosian started the sequence by throwing the puck at the net from the blue line. Ward couldn't quite corral it, and Ladd batted it around before finally knocking the puck into the net. Ladd won a Stanley Cup with Carolina in 2006. Tlutsy scored a nifty goal earlier in the period. He took a pass from Brandon Sutter near the blue line and used some fancy fakes and dekes to create space as he cut into the slot. His wrist shot beat Mason high on the blocker side. Kane got the Jets on the board in the first period with a goal on an odd-man rush. After Carolina defenseman Jamie McBain couldn't come up with the puck after pinching in the offensive zone, Kane went the other way on a 2-on-1 break. He accelerated toward the net on Ward's right and rifled a wrist shot off the post and into the net. Kane has scored four goals in his last five games. Neither team created many opportunities in the final period. Carolina's Jeff Skinner set up Tomas Kaberle with an open net late in the game, but Kaberle hit the side of the net from close range. NOTES: Carolina defenseman Jay Harrison missed the game with an upper-body injury. ... The Hurricanes' back-up goalie Brian Boucher was hit by a puck on the top of his head near the end of the second period and didn't return to the bench. . Ladd has scored in both the Jets' games against Carolina this year.

Bruins, Jets Forever Linked by 2011 Trade Deadline Deal Involving Rich Peverley, Blake Wheeler, Mark Stuart

The Winnipeg Jets may have still been the Atlanta Thrashers, but a trade involving them and the Bruins last season has paid dividends for the Black and Gold, and it'll forever represent a link between the two franchises. Prior to the trade deadline last season, the Bruins sent Blake Wheeler and Mark Stuart to the Thrashers in exchange for Rich Peverley and Boris Valabik. Peverley...

NHL rules no supplemental discipline for Zach Bogosian's elbow on Cody Eakin

Zach Bogosian's elbow made contact with Washington Capitals rookie Cody Eakin's head. Peter Tessier: Jets blow through Hurricanes + trade rumours.

The Jets took the lead on a quick Evander Kane rush and never looked back tonight as they survived an onslaught and their own chaotic play to win 3-1 in Raleigh.  The start didn't bode well for the Jets as once again they took two penalties in the first five minutes and gave the Hurricanes a chance for an early lead. Instead of waiting until the third period the Jets decided...
