Per the St. Louis Dispatch, Dallas Stars captain Brenden Morrow is involved in trade discussions, and the Rangers could be one team involved. The 33 year old Morrow is coming off a season full of injuries that allowed him to play only 57 games, in which he scored 11 goals while adding 15 assists.

This isn't the first time Morrow has been linked to the Rangers, as just last season Morrow was seen as a potential acquisition by Glen Sather. Morrow spent time on Brad Richards' wing when Richards was in Dallas and so presumably Brad would love for Sather to bring his former teammate to New York. He also would address what we perhaps need most; a scoring left winger. Still, Morrow is captain of the Stars for a reason and with the additions of Ray Whitney and Jaromir Jagr it seems like the Stars are banking on doing some winning this season. I don't know how trading Morrow fits into that plan. Still, Morrow rumors have quietly floated in the last year and so a trade would not surprise me. He would be a fine alternative should nothing come of the Rick Nash rumors.
