You heard it as soon as Marian Hossa‘s goal was upheld against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night.
Accusations were thrown out, not only from Blues fans, but NHL fans as a whole, that the National Hockey League is invested in the Chicago Blackhawks, which led to that goal being allowed. Hossa’s goal made the score 2-1, still in favor of St. Louis, but the Hawks would go on to win it, 4-3 in overtime.
The win eliminated the Calgary Flames from postseason contention, leaving the Dallas Stars as the only team remaining that can catch the Hawks for the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference.
Naturally, critics have come out and spoken against the “War Room” in Toronto, as well as the NHL for a whole, citing a potential first round matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and Chicago be much more appealing than one that would feature Vancouver and Dallas.
