YouTube If the Islanders are not going to eliminate the Penguins (and let’s face it, they won’t), the least they can do is push around Sid the Kid, right?  On Thursday, the Penguins whooped the Isles 4-0 in a crucial Game Five.  With the series tied at two games apiece and the game zip-zip, Islanders forward Matt Martin had an opportunity to put Crosby on his backside.  And he didn’t miss it. Martin stands 6’3″ and 205 pounds.  Crosby stands four inches shorter and about 200 pounds.  So the size difference isn’t huge by any means.  But, you wouldn’t know it by the collision in the clip below.  Martin and Crosby were both chasing a puck into the corner and right as Martin tapped the puck to freedom, he saw black out of the corner of his eye. He didn’t exactly have time to line up Crosby, but he was able to brace for the hit.  The same couldn’t be said for 87. But sending Crosby to the ice wasn’t enough for Martin.  Comically, he then stood over his victim as the puck was still in his defensive zone. Crosby got the last laugh (as he usually does). The Pens won 4-0 on their way to a 3-2 series lead. And per usual, Crosby contributed a goal and a helper.
