Canyon of Blueshirts:

Taking a break from talking about the playoff race that the Rangers are slowly losing, a feel good story comes to the Garden tonight in the form of Jed Ortmeyer. The former Ranger is now 32 and back in the NHL with the Minnesota Wild. After being released from a professional tryout with the Islanders this fall (nice move Garth), Ortmeyer stuck with the AHL Houston Aeros, the minor league affiliate of the Wild.
Ortmeyer was signed and recalled by the Wild a week ago and is living proof that perseverance pays off. After tearing his ACL (twice) and dealing with the daily maintenance of his blood disorder which requires daily injections of blood thinners, Ortmeyer is back living the dream in the NHL.
Good for him.
Tonights lines:
Dubinsky-Anisimov-Callahan
Wolski-Stepan-Zuccarello
Fedotenko-Boyle-Prust
Avery-Christensen-Prospal
Staal-Girardi
McDonagh-Sauer
McCabe-Gilroy
Hank will get the start in goal. Marc Staal and Ruslan Fedotanko return to the lineup. I'm sure Wild fans will be shocked that Marian Gaborik is injured and out of the lineup.
=damn healthy scratch, so new headline: "Jed Ortmeyer Returns to the Garden in a Shirt and Tie"
