They were trying to catch Jeff Carter. Eventually you suspected that Boston Bruins were going to pull even and pass the Kings' goal-scoring leader. Carter outshot the Bruins by himself in the first period and stayed within range in the second in the Kings' 4-2 win Thursday night at Staples Center. The victory, the second for the Kings in the last eight games, helped erase some of the negativity generated by the shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday. This was the third game back for Kings goalie Jonathan Quick, who had been out since Nov. 12 because of a strained groin. He has won twice, lost in a shootout and his game was particularly sharp when it needed to be against Boston, as he faced 22 shots. His goals-against average in these three games is 1.30. “We knew we had to win the third [period] if we wanted to have a chance to win this game,” Kings center Jarret Stoll said in his TV interview after the game. “We knew they would come with a big push.” Then there...

WATCH: Kings backup goalie creepily videobombs interview

YouTube During Wednesday’s Wild-Kings game, Kings backup goalie Ben Scrivens videobombed a Jarret Stoll interview like it was his job.  Not only did he intentionally get in the background of the video (the very definition of videobomb), but he stares right through you.  He’s past getting into your soul.  He knows who you are.  He knows everything about you. Stay away from Ben Scrivens.
