Jerome Samson, 26, RW, 6'0, 195 lbs Last Year's Ranking: N/A This Year's Ranking: 21 Difference: 0   Andrew Gordon, 27, RW, 6'0, 193 lbs Last Year's Ranking: N/A This Year's Ranking: 20 Difference: 0   These two minor-league type of signings are only to help the Winnipeg Jets lack of depth up front the past two seasons.   Gone is Kyle Wellwood - who's 2011-12 season was good, but 2012-13 was not - and so is Nik Antropov and Alex Burmistrov.   So with so many departures, the acquisition of two younger players up front will only help the Jets if injuries once again strike the team at an important time.   For Jerome Samson, he is looking to stick in the NHL after a good junior career in the QMJHL.   An undrafted player, Samson has spent the last six seasons in the Carolina Hurricanes organization playing in 46 games in the NHL with two goals and seven assists.   His AHL experience has seen improvement over the years - his career season was in 2009-10 when he led the Albany River Rats in scoring with 78 points (37 goals, 41 assists) in 74 games.   In 2010-11 and 2011-12, Samson had call-ups to the Hurricanes but never played more than 23 games.  Last season, he was limited to 37 games.   For Andrew Gordon, it's a third try at sticking in the NHL for the 27-year old Halifax native.   In 55 career NHL games, he has three goals and four assists spent in chunks of seasons from 2008-09 in Washington to last season in Vancouver.   He has shown an offensive flair in the AHL scoring 71 points (37 goals, 34 assists) in 79 games in 2010-11 with the Hershey Bears and was apart of two Calder Cup championships there.   For both Samson and Gordon, their stock in the Jets top list will all matter if they can make the cut - if they can't then they will sink so fast down the list they may not be an afterthought in 2014.
