Paul Postma, the Winnipeg Jets defenseman, who has a blood clot in his calf that will keep him sidelined for a couple months, spoke to the media on Monday.
Postma explained, “It really startled me. I was in shock.” “I still can’t really believe it happened. You don’t hear about [blood clots] too often. “I guess it’s just a different situation, and I’ll take it day-by-day.” The blue liner, who is now 24 said he felt something wrong in his leg after Saturday’s 2-1 win over the Stars of Dallas, where he played 15:10 minutes. He said the issue got worse when they arrived in Colorado and he did not play in the Sunday loss to the Avalanche. He had played in eight games so far this season.
Jets head coach Claude Noel called the development “unfortunate,” after informing him of the diagnosis on Monday, adding Postma would be out “longer than week-to-week”. Postma has been told he will be out “a few months”, this according to TSN Winnipeg. And due to the blood thinners, he will not be
