Phoenix Coyotes forward Josh Gratton and defenseman Brendan Bell rejected their qualifying offers. Both want one way contracts where the current offers are two contracts which could send either of the pair to the AHL. Gratton is the Coyotes enforcer and when he was in the lineup, the Coyotes were 25-25-1. At one point in the season, the Coyotes were 24-19-1. They were 6-21-4 without him. Bell, a 3rd round draft pick in 2001 for the Toronto Maple Leafs, was acquired by the Coyotes in the Yanic Perreault trade. He looked incredibly lost on the ice in a Coyotes sweater. He played 14 games and only scored 2 points with a minus 8 rating. Gratton is worth the security of a one way deal whereas Bell is not. Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney might not know the value of some of his players.
