Alex Ovechkin—like many other locked out NHLers—is keeping his skills up by playing in the KHL, where the hockey is of NHL quality, but the arena glass seems to be of a quality much lower than that found in North America hockey rinks. How else do you explain the glass shattering at this KHL arena after what seems to be rather harmless contact with Ovie’s helmeted head?
Does Ovechkin have a noggin made of marble? Or does the helmet he wears while playing with the Dynamo Moscow contain equal parts titanium and diamond? Or is it what was mentioned above…the result of some poorly made Russian plexiglass?
Whatever the reason behind Ovie’s glass pane smashing experience, at least one guy was totally unimpressed with the whole thing…
