from Lisa Dillman of the LA Times, Back surgery put Kings defenseman Matt Greene out for almost all of last season, and now he is expected to miss a significant period of time with an unrelated issue, an upper-body injury. The Kings were preparing paperwork on Wednesday to put Greene on long-term injured reserve, General Manager Dean Lombardi said in an interview. That mechanism is designed to give the team salary cap relief and opens up a roster spot.... Quick, who was injured late in overtime against the Sabres, is heading back to Los Angeles for evaluation, including an MRI examination.Lombardi was not sure if the injury was to Quick’s groin. Of course, everything is speculation until the test results come back. “We’re not going to know until the MRI,” Lombardi said. “Obviously, it didn’t look good. The trainers told me walking out [last night] it was not good. They don’t know until they get in there and find out what it is ... nobody knows.” a bit more...

L.A. puts Matt Greene on Injured Reserve

Kings lose Jonathan Quick to a ‘lower-body injury’

Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick looks to have succumbed to the growing list of pad-shortened goalies who've suffered groin injuries, getting dinged in overtime during the Kings' 3-2 OT loss to Buffalo, as noted by NHL.com--and you'll be able to watch the video after watching some sort of stupid 30-second commercial because NHL.com believes that you should...

Kings-Islanders Preview

Neither the Los Angeles Kings nor the New York Islanders have found much consistency lately.
