Pro Sports Blogging:
Lee Stempniak led the way with a hat-trick as the Phoenix Coyotes beat the Kings on Thursday night. A slow start for the Kings doomed them and they simply couldn’t catch up. It’s going to be a short post today but I just want to focus on a few things.
On the bright side:
-Wayne Simmonds finally got that monkey off his back, and then some. Wayne potted the Kings only 2 goals on the night and now the pressure is off. I’d expect it to come much easier now that he’s not gripping his stick.
-According to Rich Hammond, Simmonds talked to Doughty as recently as yesterday and Doughty said he felt “all right.” I think the positive is that if it were something serious, we would know by now and Drew would be on IR. Maybe that’s just the optimist in me, but that’s how I am.
-Face-offs were good for the second consecutive game.
-The PK continues to keep the Kings in games. Only 2 PP goals allowed on the season, including an empty netter.
