The Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup last year, and that of course, got them a bunch of attention across the sports world. However, the Kings were already Internet famous, thanks to their often sarcastic and witty Twitter account.
Apparently that has carried over to their team website as well. The Kings had plenty of trade deadline coverage on Wednesday, including a trade tracker, which detailed each trade leading up to the 3 p.m. deadline.
It was, of course, awesome.
The tracker broke down every trade with not only the parties involved, but “instant analysis” was also added. However, the analysis wasn’t exactly the tactical breakdowns you may have seen on trade deadline special on TSN or Sportsnet to name a couple.
For instance, the Ducks broke down the Bruins’ trade to acquire Wade Redden from St. Louis as such.
“Redden will be reunited with his BFF [Zdeno] Chara.”
Here’s what they had to say on the trade that brought Jaromir Jagr to Boston, which included a typo misspelling ...

Just before the NHL trade deadline passed, the Bruins pulled the trigger on St. Louis Blues defenseman Wade Redden. The 35 year old veteran is on a one year contract and will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. In return, the Bruins send the Blues a seventh round draft pick in 2014.
Redden was the second overall draft pick in 1995 and spent the first 11 years...

TSN confirms trade.
The Boston Bruins have acquired defenseman Wade Redden from the St. Louis Blues and center Rob Flick from the Chicago Blackhawks.
The trades came before the NHL's trade deadline Wednesday and one day after the Bruins obtained five-time NHL scoring champion wing Jaromir Jagr from the Dallas Stars.
Redden, who has played in 1,017 NHL games, was obtained for a conditional seventh...
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Justin Williams and Jeff Carter scored 98 seconds apart on the first two shots of the game, Williams added a goal on Los Angeles' first shot of the second period, and the Kings beat the Minnesota Wild 3-0 on Thursday night behind Jonathan Bernier's first shutout of the season.
Bernier made 23 saves en route to his sixth NHL shutout and first since Feb...

The Boston Bruins have acquired St. Louis Blues defensemen Wade Redden for a 7th round draft pick. After trading for Jay Bouwmeester and Jordan Leopold, the Blues had a log jam of NHL-ready defensemen and were willing to part with one of them for the right price; a conditional pick was enough for Redden. Wearing Davis Drewiske’s old #44 and playing on Drewiske’s old spot with Keaton Ellerby on the third defense pairing, playing on his left, Robyn Regehr began his tenure with the Kings, setting out on his quest to not only prove he’s better than Drewiske (and Alec Martinez), but that he’s better enough to warrant giving [...]
After making two shrewd moves to bring in Jordan Leopold and Jay Bouwmeester to shore up the left-side of the team's defense, St. Louis Blues general manager Doug Armstrong may have pulled off his biggest heist of the week on Wednesday by sending unneeded defenseman Wade Redden to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a conditional draft pick.
Kudos to Armstrong for making the...

Well as the 3 of you that read The Royal Half on a regular basis might have noticed... we've had a little less content around here this season. With myself doing the GAMEDAY PREVIEWS for LAKings.com, I haven't had as much free time to do unfunny and boring recaps of the Los Angeles Kings games. So to fix that, we are trying something new...
Obviously the big aquisiton for the Bruins was Jaromir Jagr, but we all knew Chiarelli wasn't done. The defense this year hadn't been spectacular and Chiarelli said he wanted to add a defenseman to the mix. A lot of fans wanted someone like Yandle or Ryan or Boyle -- either the NHL unicorn (PMD) to help on the power play or a shut down defenseman to help what's...
