Famous Games Played: December 17, 1975: Huskies defeat U.S. Olympic team, 3-1. They go on to win the national championship.
October 18, 2003: MTU vs NMU - having lost the night before in OT, MTU was looking to rebound, but they found themselves down 6-3 with 2:05 remaining in the game. At 17:55, the Huskies get a goal, then a second at the 18:34 mark. Colin Murphy gets the hat trick at the 19:32 mark, tying the game. Then 2:58 into OT, Murphy gets his fourth of the game to win it for Tech.
Unique Items: Copper Country Anthem, played by the pep band between the second and the third period. The Huskies Pep Band, "The Cream of the Keweenaw, The Pride of Pastyland, The Second Best Feeling in the World"
Where to eat: Ambassodor before the game (pizza and fishbowls) and the Downtowner (DT) after the game.
Best seats: All seats have great sight lines, but for the best, try the suites, new to the rink in 2009. They have a view of the entire rink and let you see the action in any corner.
Area Attractions: All of the Keweenaw Peninsula, including Copper Harbor, Brockway Mountain and all the great sites along Lake Superior.
