From LAKings.com:
The award recognizes an NHL player who applies the core values of hockey – commitment, perseverance and teamwork – to enrich the lives of people in his community.
Brown has worked on behalf of various organizations such as KaBoom!, the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Children’s Cancer Research Fund, Make my Day Monday, and much more.
One of the highlights of Brown’s charitable work this season was hosting the McLeod family at STAPLES Center.
Will McLeod, 6, has leukemia.
The family got to go “behind-the-scenes,” watch practice, meet players, see a game, and more.
