When the Philadelphia Flyers inked Ilya Bryzgalov to a 9-year $51 million dollar deal this offseason, the move was to effectively end nearly two decades of goaltending issues for the orange and black.Too many years of the organization patch working average goaltenders has led to an early postseason exits and has stood in the way of more than one Stanley Cup possibility. President Ed Snider, along with the fans had seen enough after last year’s loss to the Bruins and demanded that GM Paul Holmgren go out and get the best available goalie on the market. As it turned out, that goalie was the spacey Russian with a penchant for quirky one liners.As the biggest game on the Flyers schedule looms, an old familiar issue has reared its ugly head.
