The National Hockey League announced the six players who have been voted into the 2012 All-Star Game on Thursday morning. While the results didn’t really come as much of a surprise, a lot of fans expressed their displeasure over what they are calling ballot stuffing.
The reason why these fans are upset is simple: Of the six players voted into the All-Star Game, one at each position, four currently play for the Ottawa Senators. As you may already know, this year’s All-Star festivities are being held in the city of Ottawa.

The other two players, defenceman Dion Phaneuf and goaltender Tim Thomas, both play for Northeast Division teams as well.
This year’s fan voting has really brought out the flaws in the current system. Some ...

Perhaps the most puzzling aspect of the 2011-2012 Ottawa Senators season - Nikita Filatov's saga withstanding - has been the play of goaltender Craig Anderson.
With rather lackluster numbers(19-12-3, .901 save percentage, and a 3.12 GAA), Anderson's become the real fall guy for a defense that's simply allowed...

At 20-15-5, I think it's pretty safe to say that the Ottawa Senators are the surprise of the season. Few - if any - expected this team to be competitive, but here they are at the halfway mark, playing respectable hockey.
In doing so, a number of players have earned quite the praise from coaches, players, and fans around...
Ken Beckett: Maple Leafs Game Day - Game 40: Jets vs. Leafs
After a massive victory to open up 2012 at home, the Toronto Maple Leafs look to avenge a New Year's Eve loss as they play host to the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.
This is the third of six meetings between the two teams this season. Winnipeg earned a 3-2 victory in the last game of 2011, in which some Toronto turnovers and two power play goals allowed were the difference. The...

Leafs GM Burke bemoans evolution of NHL (AP)
Brian Burke is struggling to come to grips with the evolution of hockey. On a day the Toronto Maple Leafs general manager sent enforcer Colton Orr to the American Hockey League, he bemoaned that there doesn't appear to be much need for players like Orr in today's game. Long a proponent of rough-and-tumble hockey, Burke now presides over a Leafs team that is built largely...
