Found June 18, 2013 on Kukla's Korner:
from Dan Shaughnessy of the Boston Globe, The Blackhawks are supposed to be a great hockey team. They won the Cup three years ago and set an NHL record when they came out of the gate without losing any of their first 24 games in regulation. They recovered from a 3-1 series deficit against Detroit. They overwhelmed the defending Stanley Cup champs from Los Angeles. They went 10-1 in their first 11 home playoff games. But something changed after Chicago dominated the first period of Game 2. The Bruins came out flying in the second period of Game 2 and have crushed the Hawks’ spirit over the last five periods. The Blackhawks are taking on the look of the Penguins. They can’t believe how hard it is to score against the Bruins. A couple of fights broke out Monday in the closing seconds.... It is a mistake to think this series is over. We know better. But the Bruins are just two wins away from another Cup and they are playing textbook, almost perfect hockey. They even managed...

Tuukka Rask drops s-bomb during postgame interview

NBC has been having some tough luck with their postgame interviews during this year’s Stanley Cup Final. First, Andrew Shaw dropped an F-bomb after his Game 1 winner. Then, following Tuukka Rask’s Game 3 shutout in Boston, the Bruins goaltender let a curse of his own fly when asked about rebound control. “It’s tough because the ice gets so sh**ty towards the end of the period...

Patrice Bergeron Is ‘the Type of Guy You Want Dating Your Daughter,’ Says Brad Marchand

Although Patrice Bergeron is reportedly getting married this summer, teammate Brad Marchand wants all the mothers and fathers out there to know that he’s an all around good guy — a real catch for daddy’s little princess. It should come as no a surprise that Marchand has jumped into this nation-wide Bergeron love fest. Not only is Bergie playing incredible hockey, but the...

Gregory Campbell Exemplifies Bruins’ Team-First Attitude, Says Teammates ‘Would Do the Same Thing’

There was never any doubt for Gregory Campbell. He knew that something was wrong after blocking a shot in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals, but he also knew he had a job to do. He had to finish his shift, not only because it was his job, but also because he owed it to his teammates. After all, they would all do the same. The Bruins forward may not have known it at the time...

Paille, Bergeron put Bruins ahead 2-0 after 2nd

Goals by Daniel Paille and Patrice Bergeron after a scoreless first period gave the Boston Bruins a 2-0 lead over the Chicago Blackhawks through two periods in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals Monday night. With the series tied 1-1, the Blackhawks suffered a key loss moments before the game when forward Marian Hossa was scratched from the lineup after being hit by a puck during...

Yipee Paille Mother F***er game two....

Boston Bruins forward Daniel Paille has scored the last two goals for the Boston Bruins. Tyler Seguin is starting to heat up in the scoring department as well. About halfway through game three, it's been a pretty even game with the shots 16-15 in the Bruins favor. The Bruins have blocked 10 shots to the Blackhawks one. 3-game point streak for Seguin now with the helper on...

Tuukka Rask’s 25-save shutout pushes Bruins past Blackhawks 2-0 in Game 3

Daniel Paille netted his second game-winning goal in as many games and Tuukka Rask made 25 saves for his third shutout of the playoffs as the Bruins won 2-0 and took a 2-1 series lead. The Bruins improved to 8-2 at home this postseason while the Blackhawks road struggles continued, falling to 3-5 and losing their fourth Game 3 of the playoffs.  The Bruins defense played spectacularly...

Bruins take series lead with shutout

Tuukka Rask shut out the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals on Monday night and got enough help from the Bruins' offense to do it without another exhausting overtime. After playing four extra periods in the first two games, the Bruins made an early night of it with second-period goals by Daniel Paille and Patrice Bergeron to win 2-0 and take a 2-1 lead in...

Brad Marchand Accuses Andrew Shaw of Eye Gouging, Calls Blackhawks Winger a ‘Kitty Cat’

Putting Brad Marchand and Andrew Shaw on the ice at the same time creates a powder keg of agitation — one that finally blew up in the closing seconds of Game 3 on Monday. As Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara and Blackhawks winger Bryan Bickell dropped the gloves in front of the Boston net, Marchand and Shaw did the same. The fights did not exactly follow “hockey code,” as a particularly...

Jaromir Jagr has Wolverine-esque intangibles and creative playmaking ability

Photo via Bruins.NHL.comScott LevesqueContent EditorWhen Boston traded for him on April 2nd the move was seen, by many, as an opportunity to help mentor the younger Bruins players - as the team made their playoff push.Who could blame the Bruins for that line of thought? With over 15 years of experience in the NHL, and a list of personal accolades as long as Interstate 95, the acquisition...

Tuukka Rask Calls The Ice ************ After Shutting Out Blackhawks

A.B. Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask says the TD Garden ice was ************ on live TV after game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals against the Chicago Blackhawks. But after saving all 28 shots to post his third shutout of the 2013 NHL playoffs, I’m pretty sure he gets a pass. Especially in Boston where we encourage profanity.

Lord Stanley Game Three

Just a few things that caught my eye: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool Joel Quennville four times? Shame on the organization. Zdeno Chara was in the dressing room with a skate issue for at least four shifts and Quennville failed to get Jonathan Toews on the ice for any of them. How does that happen with today's technology? Tuukka...
